Our mission
Englishtown was created in 1996 with the mission to use technology to create a fundamentally better way to learn English. We believe that traditional methods fail most students by forcing them to all learn the same way, at a fixed pace, on a fixed schedule. Like telephoning before the cell phone, English before Englishtown was inflexible, inconvenient and impersonal.
More than a decade later, we believe Englishtown is truly better way to learn English than traditional methods. It gives students more choice, convenience and value. But our mission does not stop there. We remain committed to constant innovation aimed at making Englishtown even better -- and making the world a smaller, better place by doing so.

Englishtown is based in Hong Kong. With regional headquarters in London and a research and development office in Shanghai. We pride ourselves on our diversity -- more than 30 nationalities are represented among our office staff and our online teachers come from the US, UK, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.
